Abstract:

The dissemination of software systems in corporate environments is a reality, and some authors no longer consider them as a competitive advantage, but rather as commodities (Carr, 2003). Its mass diffusion made companies operational and managerial dependent on them (Melville, Kraemer and Gurbaxani, 2004). This phenomenon that has been accelerated by the increased competitiveness (Bharadwaj et al., 2013; Drnevich and Croson, 2013) and the increasing amount of information produced and consumed (Chen, Chiang and Storey, 2012). Although the concept of governance has been widely discussed in the academia as well as in the public and private sectors over the last decades, there is still no consensus on its ultimate definition.
